Description

These Air Fryer Pizza Rolls are a delicious and easy appetizer or snack made with homemade pizza dough, pepperoni, mozzarella cheese, and a flavorful seasoned pizza sauce. Crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside, they cook quickly in the air fryer, making them perfect for gatherings or a fun family treat.

Ingredients

For the Dough and Filling

  • 1 tube (13.8 ounces) pizza dough, thinly rolled out and cut into 16 squares
  • ¾ cup pizza sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ cup pepperoni, diced
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat Air Fryer and Prepare Baking Sheet: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to place the pizza dough squares on for easy assembly.
  2. Make Seasoned Pizza Sauce: In a small bowl, combine the pizza sauce, minced garlic, and Italian seasoning. Stir well and set aside to infuse the flavors.
  3. Roll and Cut Dough: Lightly flour a clean work surface. Roll out the pizza dough into a 12x12-inch square. Cut the dough into 16 equal smaller squares and arrange them on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Add Fillings: Spoon 1 teaspoon of the seasoned pizza sauce onto the center of each dough square. Top each with 1 teaspoon of diced pepperoni and 1 teaspoon of shredded mozzarella cheese.
  5. Seal the Rolls: Moisten the edges of each dough square with a wet finger. Fold the bottom corner up to the center. Then, fold in the left and right corners toward the center to form an envelope shape. Fold the top corner down to seal all ingredients inside. Gently press the edges with your finger or fork to ensure they are sealed properly.
  6. Prepare for Air Frying: Lightly spray each sealed pizza roll with cooking spray to help browning and crispiness. Place the rolls in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Depending on your air fryer size, work in batches if necessary.
  7. Air Fry: Cook the pizza rolls in the air fryer at 400°F for 8 minutes or until they turn golden brown and crispy.
  8. Serve: Remove the pizza rolls from the air fryer and serve immediately. They are delicious on their own or paired with ranch dressing or extra pizza sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • You can substitute pepperoni with other favorite pizza toppings like cooked sausage or veggies.
  • Be sure to seal the edges tightly to prevent filling leakage during cooking.
  • If your air fryer basket is small, cook the pizza rolls in batches for even crispiness.
  • Allow the rolls to cool for a minute or two after air frying as the filling will be very hot.
  • Cooking times might vary slightly depending on your air fryer model.
