Description

Apple Cider Chai, also known as Chaider, is a cozy and flavorful warm beverage combining sweet apple cider with spicy chai tea concentrate. Enhanced with optional whole spices and topped with whipped cream and caramel drizzle, this comforting drink is perfect for chilly days or whenever you need a warm pick-me-up.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup apple cider
  • 3/4 cup chai tea concentrate

Optional Toppings and Add-ins

  • Whipped cream, to serve (optional)
  • Caramel drizzle, to serve (optional)
  • Ground cinnamon, to serve (optional)
  • Whole cinnamon sticks and spices (such as cardamom pods, cloves), to steep (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine liquids: Pour the apple cider and chai tea concentrate into a small saucepan.
  2. Heat mixture: Warm the mixture over medium heat until it reaches your preferred sipping temperature.
  3. Add spices (optional): For extra chai flavor and spiciness, add whole cinnamon sticks and other whole spices to the saucepan as it warms and steep for at least 5 minutes to infuse the chaider with the flavors. This step is optional and can be skipped if you prefer a simpler drink.
  4. Strain and pour: Remove the whole spices by straining the chaider as you pour it into a mug.
  5. Add toppings (optional): Top your drink with a dollop of whipped cream, a drizzle of caramel sauce, and a sprinkle of ground cinnamon to finish. These toppings add richness and decadence but are completely optional.

Notes

  • You can adjust the chai tea concentrate and apple cider ratio to make the drink stronger or sweeter according to your taste.
  • If you don’t have chai concentrate, strong brewed chai tea can be used as a substitute.
  • Steeping with whole spices enhances flavor but is optional based on your preference and time available.
  • Whipped cream and caramel drizzle add extra indulgence but can be omitted for a lighter drink.
  • This recipe serves one but can be easily multiplied for more servings.
