Description

Experience the flavors of summer with the vibrant Bomb Pop Cocktail, a layered drink that mirrors the nostalgic bomb pop popsicle. This refreshing cocktail combines grenadine, lemonade, vodka, and a splash of blue food coloring to create a visually striking and delicious beverage perfect for summer holidays or gatherings.

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 1 to 1½ ounces grenadine (see notes)
  • 1 to 1½ cups pebble ice cubes (see notes)
  • ⅓ cup lemonade
  • 3 ounces vodka or any clear liquor, divided
  • 1 to 2 drops blue food-safe coloring liquid

Instructions

  1. Pour Grenadine: Slowly pour grenadine into your glass to prevent splashing, filling at least 1 centimeter in height to create the base layer.
  2. Add Ice: Carefully add pebble or crushed ice into the glass, leaving at least 1 inch of space from the top to allow room for liquids and layering.
  3. Mix Lemonade and Vodka: Combine ⅓ cup lemonade with 1½ ounces vodka in a spouted measuring cup. Slowly pour this mixture over the back of a spoon into the glass to create the middle layer without disturbing the grenadine.
  4. Blue Vodka Layer: In the same spouted measuring cup, mix the remaining 1½ ounces vodka with 1 to 2 drops of blue food-safe coloring. Slowly pour this colored vodka over the back of the spoon on top of the lemonade layer to form the final top layer.
  5. Garnish: Optionally, garnish with a bomb pop popsicle to enhance the thematic presentation and enjoy immediately for the best layered effect.

Notes

  • The amount of grenadine might need adjustment depending on the glass size to maintain proper layering.
  • Chill all ingredients beforehand to help the layers remain distinct longer.
  • Leaving 1 inch of space when adding ice is crucial as the ice will rise once liquids are added.
  • This cocktail is best served immediately; do not store as melting ice dilutes and mixes layers.
  • Pour liquids slowly over the back of a spoon for best layering results.
