Description

This delightful Cinnamon Pie combines a creamy cinnamon-spiced filling with a flaky premade pie crust, baked to perfection and served chilled with a dusting of powdered sugar. Perfectly balanced in sweetness and spice, it’s an inviting dessert for any occasion.

Ingredients

Pie Crust

  • 1 Premade 9” Pie Crust (unbaked)

Filling

  • 8 oz Cream Cheese (softened at room temperature)
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar (packed)
  • 3 Large Eggs
  • 1 1/4 cup Half and Half
  • 1/4 cup All Purpose Flour
  • 3 Tablespoons Ground Cinnamon
  • 2 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1/4 tsp Salt

For Serving

  • Powdered Sugar (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat and prepare crust: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the unbaked premade 9-inch pie crust into a 9-inch pie pan, crimp the edges neatly, then refrigerate it while preparing the filling.
  2. Mix cream cheese and sugar: In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese and packed brown sugar using an electric mixer until the mixture is light, fluffy, and well combined, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add eggs and remaining ingredients: Beat in the eggs one at a time until fully incorporated. Then, on low speed, gradually mix in the half and half, all-purpose flour, ground cinnamon, vanilla extract, and salt until the filling is smooth and homogeneous.
  4. Fill the crust: Pour the prepared cinnamon-flavored filling evenly into the chilled pie crust, smoothing the top with a spatula if needed.
  5. Bake the pie: Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes. The edges should be set firmly, while the center will remain slightly jiggly, which is normal as it will continue to set when cooling.
  6. Cool the pie: Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool completely at room temperature. Then cover and chill it in the refrigerator for at least 2 to 4 hours to ensure it sets properly.
  7. Bring to serving temperature: Before serving, allow the chilled pie to sit out at room temperature for about 1 hour to enhance the texture and flavor.
  8. Serve: Dust the top of the pie generously with powdered sugar. Slice and serve to enjoy this creamy, cinnamon-spiced treat.

Notes

  • Ensure the cream cheese is softened to room temperature to achieve a smooth, lump-free filling.
  • The center of the pie will be slightly jiggly after baking; this is expected and the pie will firm up during chilling.
  • Using a premade pie crust saves time but you can substitute with homemade pie crust if preferred.
  • Powdered sugar on top adds a delicate sweetness and decorative touch but can be omitted if desired.
  • Chilling time is important for the pie to set properly and improve the flavor.
