Description

A simple and smooth Cold Brew Coffee recipe that steeps coarse ground coffee beans in water overnight to produce a rich, mellow coffee concentrate. Perfect for summer mornings or anytime you want a refreshing, low-acid coffee beverage served cold or diluted with milk or water.

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 1 cup coarse ground coffee beans
  • 4 cups water

Instructions

  1. Steeping: Place the coarse ground coffee beans and water into a large pitcher or jug. Stir well to combine, then cover and refrigerate. Allow the coffee to steep slowly in the fridge for at least 12 hours to extract full flavor without bitterness.
  2. Straining: Line a small strainer with cheesecloth and set it over a large pitcher or bowl. Slowly pour the steeped coffee through the strainer, allowing the liquid to pass through and leaving coffee grounds behind. Discard the used grounds.
  3. Serving: When ready to drink, dilute the cold brew concentrate with water or milk to your preferred strength. Use up to one cup of water or milk per cup of cold brew concentrate for a balanced flavor.

Notes

  • Use coarse ground coffee for optimal extraction and easy filtration.
  • Steeping time can range from 12 to 24 hours depending on desired strength.
  • Store the brewed coffee in the refrigerator and consume within 1 week for best freshness.
  • Adjust dilution according to taste; some prefer a stronger brew while others prefer a lighter coffee.
