Description

A quick and nutritious cottage cheese salad featuring smoked salmon, creamy avocado, and a boiled egg, perfect for a light meal or snack packed with protein and healthy fats.

Ingredients

Salad Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 2-3 slices smoked salmon
  • 1/2 avocado
  • 1/2 cup diced cucumber
  • 2 tbsp chopped chives
  • 1 tbsp chopped almonds
  • 1 tsp olive oil (or to taste)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Boil the Egg: Cook the egg to your liking; boiling for 7 minutes is recommended for a perfectly cooked yet slightly soft center. Once done, set the egg aside to cool.
  2. Prepare the Base: Place the cottage cheese into a plate or bowl as the salad's foundation.
  3. Add Cucumber: Scatter the diced cucumber evenly over the cottage cheese.
  4. Slice the Avocado: Cut the avocado into slices or cubes and arrange them on top of the salad.
  5. Add Smoked Salmon: Layer the smoked salmon slices on top of the avocado and cucumber.
  6. Prepare the Egg: Peel and cut the boiled egg in half, or chop/slice as preferred, then place it over the salad.
  7. Garnish: Sprinkle the chopped chives and chopped almonds over the salad for added flavor and crunch.
  8. Season and Dress: Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  9. Serve: Serve immediately to enjoy the fresh flavors and textures of the salad.

Notes

  • The egg can be cooked to your preference – soft boiled, medium, or hard boiled.
  • Use fresh smoked salmon for the best flavor.
  • Chopped almonds add a nice crunch but can be substituted with walnuts or omitted for nut allergies.
  • This salad is best eaten immediately to enjoy the freshness of avocado and smoked salmon.
  • Adjust olive oil quantity to suit your taste and dietary needs.
