Description

Delightful Crab Rangoon Crescent Rolls combine creamy, savory crab and cream cheese filling wrapped in flaky puff pastry. These bite-sized appetizers are perfect for parties or a tasty snack, offering a crispy golden exterior with a flavorful, creamy center.

Ingredients

Filling

  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 4 ounces imitation crab, chopped
  • 1 green onion, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Pastry and Finishing

  • 1 box Pepperidge Farms puff pastry (room temperature)
  • Small amount of flour (for dusting)
  • 1/8 cup butter, melted
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400℉ to prepare for baking the crescent rolls.
  2. Prepare Filling: In a bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, chopped imitation crab, minced green onion, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder. Mix well and set aside.
  3. Prepare Puff Pastry: Lightly flour your work surface to prevent sticking. Using a pizza cutter, cut the puff pastry sheets into three even strips, then cut diagonally across each strip to create 12 triangles from two sheets.
  4. Fill and Roll: Spoon 2-3 teaspoons of the cream cheese mixture at the widest edge of each pastry triangle. It's best to portion the filling on all triangles before rolling to ensure even distribution. Then roll up each triangle starting at the wide edge towards the tip, sealing the filling inside.
  5. Prepare Baking Sheet: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spray it lightly with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  6. Arrange Rolls: Place all 12 filled crescent rolls evenly spaced on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Brush with Butter: Brush each roll with melted butter for a golden, crisp finish.
  8. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 20-23 minutes until the puff pastry is puffed and golden brown.

Notes

  • Use softened cream cheese for easier mixing and smooth filling.
  • Ensure puff pastry is at room temperature to make cutting and rolling easier.
  • Serve these crescent rolls warm for the best flavor and texture.
  • Imitation crab can be substituted with real crab meat for a richer taste.
  • These rolls can be made ahead and reheated in the oven before serving.
