Description

A refreshing and easy-to-make iced matcha latte featuring finely sifted matcha powder whisked with hot and cold water, combined with your choice of milk for a creamy, energizing beverage perfect for warm days.

Ingredients

Matcha Mixture

  • 1 teaspoon matcha powder
  • 3 tablespoons hot water
  • 3 tablespoons ice water

Other

  • ¾ cup milk of your choice (180mL)
  • Optional: 1 to 2 teaspoons simple syrup, maple syrup, or honey for sweetness

Instructions

  1. Sift matcha powder: In a small bowl, sift the matcha powder through a fine mesh strainer to remove any clumps, ensuring a smooth texture for the latte.
  2. Whisk matcha with hot water: Add the hot water to the sifted matcha powder. Whisk vigorously using a bamboo matcha whisk or mini whisk until the powder is fully dissolved and there are no lumps.
  3. Combine with cold water: Add 3 tablespoons of ice water to the matcha mixture and whisk again to combine evenly, cooling the mixture slightly.
  4. Prepare the glass: Fill a glass approximately two-thirds full with ice cubes to chill the latte.
  5. Assemble latte: Pour the milk of your choice over the ice, then slowly pour in the prepared matcha mixture.
  6. Sweeten and serve: If desired, sweeten with 1 to 2 teaspoons of simple syrup, maple syrup, or honey. Stir gently and serve immediately for a refreshing iced matcha latte.

Notes

  • Use a fine mesh strainer to sift matcha powder thoroughly to avoid lumps.
  • The traditional whisk is a bamboo matcha whisk, but a mini whisk or small kitchen whisk will work.
  • You can customize this recipe with any milk preference: dairy, almond, oat, soy, or coconut milk.
  • Adjust sweetness according to your taste or omit sweetener for a natural flavor.
  • Ensure water is hot but not boiling (ideal ~175°F or 80°C) to preserve matcha's delicate flavor.
