Description
A quick and flavorful Pesto Salmon recipe that combines tender salmon fillets with vibrant pesto and melted Parmesan cheese. Perfect for a healthy and delicious meal prepared either in the air fryer or oven.
Ingredients
Salmon
- 2 salmon fillets, 5 ounces each, skin on
Toppings
- 2 tablespoons prepared pesto (1 tablespoon per fillet)
- 2 tablespoons shredded Parmesan cheese (1 tablespoon per fillet)
- Olive oil spray, for greasing
Instructions
- Prepare the cooking equipment: If using an air fryer, spritz the basket with olive oil to prevent sticking. If using an oven, preheat it to 425°F and lightly grease a small baking sheet with olive oil.
- Season the salmon: Spread 1 tablespoon of prepared pesto evenly over the top of each salmon fillet. Then sprinkle each fillet with 1 tablespoon of shredded Parmesan cheese.
- Cook the salmon (Air Fryer): Place the salmon fillets into the prepared air fryer basket and air fry at 400°F for 7 minutes. Adjust the cooking time if the fillets are thicker to ensure they are cooked through.
- Cook the salmon (Oven): Place the pesto-coated salmon on the greased baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven at 425°F for 10 to 12 minutes, depending on thickness.
- Serve: Once cooked, carefully remove the salmon and serve immediately, enjoying the fresh pesto and melted Parmesan topping.
Notes
- Cooking times may vary depending on the thickness of the salmon fillets; always check for doneness.
- You can use homemade or store-bought pesto based on your preference.
- For a crispy skin, you can pan-sear the salmon briefly before adding pesto and cheese, then finish cooking in the air fryer or oven.
- Serve with a side of steamed vegetables or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
