Ingredients
Main Ingredients
- 1.5-2 lbs flank steak (sirloin steak or ground beef can be substituted)
- ½ yellow onion, diced
- 2 bell peppers, chopped (any color)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1.5 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 4-6 slices provolone cheese
Seasonings
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp pepper
- ½ tsp paprika
- ½ tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp dried marjoram
- ½ tsp dried oregano
- ½ tsp Montreal steak seasoning (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the vegetables: Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the diced onions and chopped bell peppers. Cook them down for about 5 minutes until they become tender and slightly caramelized. Stir in the minced garlic and sauté for another minute until fragrant.
- Mix the seasonings: In a small bowl, combine salt, pepper, paprika, onion powder, dried oregano, dried marjoram, and optional Montreal steak seasoning. This spice blend will add layers of flavor to your steak and veggies.
- Cook the steak: Add the chopped flank steak to the skillet with the cooked vegetables. Sprinkle all the seasoning mixture evenly over the steak and peppers. Pour in the Worcestershire sauce. Sauté the steak mixture for a few minutes, stirring occasionally, until the meat is browned and cooked to your preferred doneness.
- Melt the cheese: Once the steak is almost fully cooked, lay the slices of provolone cheese over the top of the skillet mixture. Remove the skillet from heat and cover with a lid. Let the residual heat melt the cheese thoroughly, creating a creamy cheesy layer on top.
