Description

This delightful Strawberry Milk recipe features a homemade strawberry syrup made from fresh strawberries, sugar, and water, combined with milk to create a sweet and refreshing beverage. Perfect as a treat for all ages, this easy-to-make drink balances natural fruit flavors with creamy milk, making it a delicious option for a quick snack or dessert.

Ingredients

For the Strawberry Syrup

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 16 ounces strawberries, greens removed and quartered
  • 1/2 cup of water

For the Strawberry Milk

  • 6 ounces milk per serving
  • 2 tablespoons strawberry syrup per 6 ounces milk

Instructions

  1. Prepare Strawberry Syrup: In a medium saucepan, combine the granulated sugar, quartered strawberries, and water. Place the saucepan over medium-low heat and bring the mixture to a boil, stirring regularly to dissolve the sugar.
  2. Boil Mixture: Keep the mixture boiling gently for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking and ensure the strawberries break down.
  3. Blend the Syrup: Remove the saucepan from heat and transfer the hot mixture to a blender. Blend until smooth, making sure all strawberry pieces are fully pureed.
  4. Strain the Syrup: Pour the blended strawberry mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a bowl or container. Use a spoon to press the pulp to extract as much syrup as possible. Discard the solids.
  5. Store Syrup: Transfer the strained syrup to an airtight container, then refrigerate. The syrup will keep fresh for up to one month.
  6. Prepare Strawberry Milk: Once the syrup is completely cooled, add 2 tablespoons of the strawberry syrup to 6 ounces of chilled milk. Stir well to combine and enjoy immediately.

  • Adjust the amount of syrup to milk based on your preferred sweetness.
